Avery McLeod, MSW, LMSW

Avery is eager to form a close partnership with you. “The people I work with are the experts on their lives. They continually impress me with their keen insight and awareness into themselves and their situations,” she says.

Avery has a special interest in working with young adults who are in the midst of life transitions and may be experiencing anxiety or depression. “Creating a safe, non-judgmental space allows for important healing to happen. As Brené Brown says, ‘If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.'”

Avery takes a trauma-informed approach using the RICH Relationship Model — Respect, Information, Connections, and Hope — along with elements of Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Avery has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
